What It Is

The Wrapsody Stretch Hybrid Wrap (also known as the Bali Stretch Wrap by GypsyMama) is a simple cloth wrap-around baby carrier. These wraps are hand-batiked by artists in Bali, Indonesia, under fair trade working conditions. They are made from a lightweight cotton jersey with some widthwise stretch but little lengthwise stretch, then hemmed for extra support.  The Wrapsody Stretch Hybrid is a great compromise if you're looking for something more supportive and capable of more wearing positions than a stretchy wrap like the Moby Wrap but easier to learn to use and more lightweight than a heavier, non-stretchy woven wrap. This makes the Wrapsody Stretch Hybrid perfect for learning how to wrap your baby on your front, hip, or back. How It Works

A Wrapsody Stretch Hybrid baby wrap is approximately 6 yards long, with highly tapered ends for a small and non-bulky knot. Generally the Wrapsody Stretch Hybrid Wrap is worn in a two-shoulder carry. Baby is held against the parent's body and the parent ties the carrier on over and around baby's body. In some instances, the carrier is tied on first and baby is put into the carrier. There are nine basic carries, with almost infinite variations for more experienced wearers. The Wrapsody definitely has a higher learning curve than a basic stretchy wrap like the Moby Wrap, but the payoff is that it's a lot more versatile in the long run. It's also thinner and cooler than the Moby Wrap and a good choice for wearers in hot climates. Each wrap comes with a detailed instruction manual and DVD, and the center of each is marked by a label. Instructional videos are also available online.
