What It Is

Ergo Baby re-invented the baby buckle carrier in 2002, combining the ergonomics of a baby hiking backpack that transfers baby's weight to the parent's hips with the soft fabric and close-to-the-body comfort of a frontpack. ErgoBaby has since become a household name in soft structured baby carriers, enabling parents to carry their babies in hands-free comfort from birth through toddlerhood. • Original, Organic, and Options Ergo carriers have the same fit and features. Original and Options come in conventional cotton while Organic comes in 100% certified organic cotton (outside and inner fill). The Options carrier comes in basic black with the option to add interchangable fashion covers for different looks.
• Sport Ergo carriers are lighter-weight and cooler, with a breathable, wicking cotton/poly blend fabric and a vent slit on the carrier body for extra ventilation. The Sport is my top pick for fluffier parents as well as for petite parents, as the shoulder straps and hip belt are longer than on the other Ergo styles but also narrower and more contoured for a better fit on parents who are smaller or larger than average.
• Performance Ergo carriers are the lightest-weight, most high-tech Ergos, featuring a water-repellant polyester outer layer, a breathable, wicking lining (either CoolMax or cotton), and high-density but thinner foam in the shoulder straps and hip belts.
  

How It Works

If you can use a backpack, you can use an ErgoBaby Carrier! You buckle the Ergo's support belt around your waist or hipbones, put baby in the carrier on your front or back, get the shoulder straps on your shoulders, buckle the chest clip, tighten, and go. Although the ErgoBaby can be used from birth, the Heart 2 Heart infant insert accessory is required for babies between 7 and 12 pounds, or newborns to three months. The ErgoBaby's hip belt, shoulder straps, and chest clip adjust exactly like a backpack's, with top-grade high-test strength plastic buckles and premium quality nylon webbing straps.
